any info on water dragons aka water dogs aka mud puppies?
hi all, my husband brought home 2 water dogs yesterday and we plan on housing them in a 55 galloon tank that will have big rocks and filled half way with water since they are air breathers. from the web info i have found they supposedly eat worms, larvea, and feeder fish, and they bite but i still cant figure out why you would try to touch one to figure out if they do bite or not. they grow to 1 foot and live 30 years. does anyone have any experience with these things? any words of wisdom on housing or taking care of them?
the trouble with common names like “water dogs” it can be hard to tell exactly what animal you’re talking about.
i believe you may be referring to axolotls though, am i correct? the aquatic salamanders so often referred to as mexican walking fish.
