Tags on Harness or Collar?

Okay. My dogs have collars, And they also have a harness that they wear whenever we go to town, I do not leave their collars on them unless we are going to town. I have been putting both the collar and the harness on the whenever we go out and about, But I have noticed more and more people are putting the dogs I.d. Tags on their harnessess. Should I do that or do you think that it is safer to keep using both or perhaps I should get copies of all of their tags and put them on both the harness and the collar? I just thought of that one..Which should I do?
I live in an apartment and they are pad trained they know not to go past an invisible line several feet from the door and they have never crossed it. I take both off because it messes with their hair and I see no point in it since they are not allowed outside unless they have their harness on and they know that. They are microchipped. They are well behaved but I will probably put tags on both just to be safe.

Well, from personal experience, harnesses are easier for dogs to slip out of that collars, so I wouldn’t bother putting it on the harness, just in case, and also if they have their collar on anyway, I don’t think it should be a problem.
I personally would just have one tag of the collar, instead of paying for copies, and if they’re microchipped, even if they get lost they are unlikely to be lost forever. If you’ve never had a problem with them slipping their collar or harness, I’d just stick with what you have.
