protection for dog’s groin?

My dog runs in the woods daily off leash. Is there a type of salve that can protect his groin? The part with no fur gets cut up. No infections though. I don’t think dog pants would stay on him at all. I know they make salves for paw pads, is there anything for this, can you use a paw pad salve? (like something like this: http://www.lucy-the-dog.com/musherssecret.html ) Thank you.
He is neutered. By groin, I mean the hairless area on the lower belly.

well it would be messy, but you could try spreading a diaper rash type cream on his stomach, the white kind with zinc oxide. what if you got/made some kind of material that only went around that area and fastened with velcro? it doesn’t sound like it bothers him too much though, or he would stop.
