Pinch collar on smaller dog?

Is pinch collar suitable for smaller breed dog? I heard they are good tool for leash training, my dog is a puller but he is only 10lbs …

I use one on my 17lb dog, just remember that it isn’t the tool that trains the dog – it’s the handler. When used improperly they CAN hurt the dog.

But pinch collars are not “inhumane” – they where made to mimic the bite of another dog. When you see dogs correcting one another, they don’t beg or plead: they bite. Period. This collar merely helps humans achieve the same thing.

I consider allowing the dog to pull until it chokes to be “inhumane.”

PS – harnesses encourage pulling by making it more comfortable for the dog to pull. Even the “gentle leader” ones that clip from the front. I’ve had dogs pull right out of them.

Want To Know Why Training Collars Are Crucial?

Training collars are among the most recommended products for dogs. Even if you are not going to train your dog for different purposes, it is still important to purchase training collars for your dogs because this is something that will get them cultured and domesticated. In addition to that, it is even more essential to purchase a training collar if you want your dog to learn other purposeful tricks and basic obedience. The primary objective that training collars impose is that it keeps your dogs well-behaved. Training collars are not meant to hurt your pets in anyway. Rest assured that when you use these pet collars, it would not hurt them in any way unless it is misused. Whether you have a dog that you want to train for a certain sport or just a normal fun-loving dog, training collars are important.

First off, when contemplating about buying training collars, you should think about what options you have. The three main training collars that you can choose from are pinch collars, choke collars, and electric or shock collars. Choke collars are perhaps the most popular kind of training collar. With choke collars, you certainly can’t go wrong because its usefulness and its effectiveness is unmatched for its price. Choke collars work by tightening up when the dog pulls against the handler. Pinch collars, on the other hand, are similar to choke collars except for the fact that they add more resistance to the dog whenever the dog pulls against the leash. Basically, instead of choking the dog, the collar tightens up and pinches the dog until the dog loosens the collar. Shock or electric collars are more advanced kinds of collars. These kinds of collars are used for dogs that are really fierce and need special attention because they can be very unruly. If a dog tries to defy you or acts disruptively, a shock will be presented on the dog. Likewise, you can also carry a remote to trigger the shock upon the dog.

Keep in mind that these training collars are solely for dogs and are not meant to do any harm. For larger and more restless dogs, you may need training collars that are more striking. Overall though, you won’t go wrong with any kind of training collar because these products are specifically created to keep your dogs behaved.
