Help! Rash on dogs belly? What could it be?
This past March, my 3 y/o Shih Tzu started scratching like crazy and had a slight spotty rash on her belly. Not hot spots. I bought her a new harness, changed her food to Eukanuba for sensitive skin, tried oatmeal shampo then hypoallergetic shampoo, nothing helped. Took her to the vets an told him everything I had done and he said it was an allergy of some sort and prescribed Hydroxyzine 15 mg, twice a day. It hasn’t helped. I even bought Avon Skin so Soft to spray her down and brush it into her really well but it hasn’t helped. Just a few minutes ago I shaved her entire belly and inner back legs and the rash is worse. She doesn’t have it anywhere else on her body. She is still scratching and biting at her back legs. I can’t make an appointment with the vet until tomorrow but the poor little thing is in misery. Any ideas or suggestions?

does she go to the bathroom outside? if so then she could be walking through something thats irritating her skin. this happens to my dachshund a lot so we usually give him half a benadryl once a day it clears up in about a week.
