How can I figure out which one of my three dogs are using my carpet as a potty pad? No video camera.?

I have 3 dogs. 2yrs, 5yrs and 8yrs old. One of them, 2 of them or all of them are potting on the carpet. They are all males and fixed. I let them out before we go to bed and right when we get up. Two of them are rat terriers and the oldest is a rat terrier mix. They all sleep with us. My suspiscion is the youngest one cause I have caught him getting out of bed in the middle of the night more than the other two. Whoever the culprit is was using the same spot in the dining room but now we are finding more spots all over the house. These spots are being found in the morning so I believe it is happening while we are sleeping. Any suggestions would be great. I don’t have a video camera and really don’t want to buy one. Would rather use the process of elimination. TY

There are a few ways to “discover” the culprit, and it may be more than one doing this. It is very frustrating for sure.

The first thing I would do is to rule out any medical problem. Urinary tract infections can be a cause of inappropriate elimination. Older dogs can become incontinent as well as they age.

Territorial issues may also be a cause for this kind of behavior,but I would first check them out with your veterinarian.

Once you rule out a medical cause, in addition to separating the dogs each night, leaving one dog out at a time to see if that dog is the one involved ( and it could be more than one), is to talk to your vet about administering a capsule that can be filled with Fluorescein which is used to examine the eyes for corneal ulcers. This is a harmless product, BUT when ingested, the dog’s urine will fluoresce (Glow green) under a wood’s light. Your vet may be willing to loan this light to you. Ask your vet if a black light will work to fluoresce as well. They are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased at a good pet store. Since you know which dog has received the capsule, you will know which one is spotting.

Then wait a few days, and administer a capsule to one of the other dogs, and so forth.

If this is a recent event, are there any changes in your household that could be upsetting them? Any new pets? Any changes in routine?

Now you can probably guess what we are going to do with it, but heck ill tell you anyway just in case basically your going to make a slide show promoting the product of choice! Record your screen while you play it, viola you have a short video!

You can condense all the benefits of an information product your promoting on Clickbank into a slide show and record it.

You can find out all the information from the sales page of the products your promoting it should give you all the information you need to make this if not then it has a poor sales page so move on.

Or better still do a product comparison compare the features, benefits and price of 2 products and give them the information and let them decide which is best for them and give them both affiliate links!

Software Demonstrations

If your promoting a software product you can make a video demonstrating the features, just record yourself using it.

If your able to get audio even better you can talk over the video as your demonstrating it if not it can still work ok just add subtitles explaining what you are doing it will work just as well

You can find loads of affiliate programs for software on Clickbank and around the web that you can promote I would avoid promoting something you haven’t tried yourself as you don’t want to tell people to buy something that doesn’t work or is substandard!

How To Videos

These types of videos get a lot of attention on Youtube and other video sites, people always want tutorials on how to do something.

Know how to do something on the computer that you think others would like to know?

Doesn’t matter how simple just make a quick video, if there is some software that automates the task after showing them how to do it manually you can promote this software and get some good conversions!

Sign up to the affiliate program of a hosting company, make a video about how easy the sign up process is and promote it!

Endless ways on monetizing these kind of videos!

Keep ahead of events in the world and be first to post! This can get you a million hits if done correctly and you hit a home run.

After the news hits the world media millions of people go online in search of more information and Youtube will rank in the top listings of the search engines.

You can monetize these videos with all kinds of things free iPod email submits and other email submits can work well with mass non targeted traffic, if you can line up something relevant to sell then you can make a killing from this.
