What can I do for my dog in the car?? Help?
I’m getting a older Volkswagen convertible and right now it does not have seatbelts, I’m going to have lap bands put in the front. I’m worried about my Golden retriver lab cross, she loves to hang her head out the window, and to chase cars, with a convertable I’m worried she will jump out and get hurt, I was thinking about getting a harness and bolting a O ring or something to the foor, or should I get seatbelt buckles in back to and get a car harness for dogs?? I love taking her for rides, but??? Do the dog harness things work and can they still hang their heads out the window or in this case roof. Thank you very much for any help.
First of all you NEED seat belts throughout your entire car not just the front. And I would recommend a dog harness from Pet Smart or Pet Co. They work well to secure your dog not only that it saves you in case you get in an accident and your dog flies through the wind shield with the force of a baby elephant.

- Boxer dogs can become nervous – it’s proven that if boxer dogs are not introduced early to everyday activities such as traffic – they can become nervous and fearful.
- This is vital as we know that nervous and fearful dogs can become aggressive and have obedience and behavior problems
