Sleeping bags and padding for the ground are also a must for night time camping. Regardless of how hot the days can be while hiking or exploring, most geographical areas will become surprisingly cold at night. A sleeping bag will keep you warm at night. You will need to purchase coals or propane if you decide to grill steaks, chicken, hot dogs, or any other type of grilled foods. Utensils and plates are obviously needed which can be plastic and paper for easy disposal.

A first aid kit is especially handy to keep all the cuts, scratches, and insect bites from becoming infected. Keep hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol available for sanitizing wounds. Band-aids and gauze are necessary for covering the wound from dirt which can possibly lead to infection. If anyone in your group has allergies, keep an antihistamine available such as Benedryl. Additionally, don’t forget to bring required medication for any person dependent on daily doses.
