Is it ok to use cloths in dog crate?
I used to use puppy pads but they got so expensive that now I just use like towels and cloths for my small Chi to relief himself located in his crate. I just wash the cloths and reuse them. Let me know if this is a good thing to do to save money. They do have washable puppy pads and i thought it would be similar.
No pads or cloths or anything in a crate. Just the dog goes in there. Putting any sort of absorbant material in there just encourages the dog to eliminate in his crate, and will not encourage the dog to housetrain, and if the dog is a puppy, they often chew on bedding left in their kennel by well-meaning owners-meaning that they are at risk for bowel obstructions when they swallow their kennel pads. Pads should only be placed in kennels of dogs that are housetrained adults (who don’t chew on inappropriate objects).
