In ground dog electric fence question.?
My wife and I are looking into getting one of those in-ground dog fences that have collars to shock the dog when they go over the boundary. My questions are 1. do they work in the winter when there is snow on the ground, and 2. do they work in rain or do the dogs get shocked from the water? thanks in advance.
I wouldn’t use them, dogs just run past them as fast as they can if they are determined to escape. Plus you can’t stop other animals/people entering your yard and once the dog leaves and knows it has to endure another shock to come back into your yard it won’t. That and it seems a bit cruel to me…why not just put up an actual fence?
